Weldon “Rusty” Yates
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Rusty has always had a passion for land stewardship, open space preservation and education. After moving to the Hill Country, he befriended a neighbor that happened to be our founder, J. David Bamberger. Soon thereafter, he was asked to join the Board of Directors, and in 2018 was elected as our Chairman.
As a University of Texas Austin alumni, Rusty has both a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. He brings a lot to our small team including business experience in ranch and timber management, banking, and private equity investments, as well as a nonprofit background in conservation and education.
